WHEN Cas comes back.
If Castiel comes back, I don’t want Dean to hug him first off.
It’d be Sam, right? Sam who, after a moment of shock, steps forward to give him that first hug. Dean would be shock-still in the background while Sam hugs their angel, and then Bobby, and then they both look back at him like ‘come on, stupid’ and Dean just. Walks away.And Cas gets this terrible, hurt look one his face but he makes a joke about it to Sam and Bobby and they go have a beer together.
Dean, in the meantime, would have gone out to the Impala, popped the trunk, and he would be staring at the trenchcoat, folded up like he left it - not the first time, because he would have unfolded it and held it up and shouted abuse at it so many times because Cas was supposed to be stronger than that.
He’d pick it up and unfold it, hold it to himself and breathe in the smell of old blood and Leviathan-infested water and just that hint of something clean like Cas, and he’d walk back inside and hold it out.
And Cas would hug him. Not the other way around.
